Appropriate Facilities

The comfort of a conservatory calls for facilities especially designed to ensure it is liveable whatever the season. As such, climate management must undertake appropriate treatment. All David Salisbury extensions have a complete system of ventilation: All are fitted with skylights that allow the air to be renewed.

Outstanding comfort and remarkable beauty

Wood being the most natural insulating material, it is not surprising that Salisbury's constructions have an excellent energy balance. The level of thermal insulation in wood is particularly high, which actually explains why it is used in Northern countries where weather conditions are harsh. Thermal quality in Salisbury's products is completed with the use of reinforced insulation double-glazing, which allows them to find an ideal location in most areas of France. As already mentioned above, automatic spraying of wood offers a double advantage: on the one hand finishes that are of impeccable beauty; on the other hand a long lasting protection against weather changes. The main criticism usually made towards traditional wooden conservatories is that their maintenance is tedious (regular and frequent repainting). This does not apply to these extensions which are very resistant to weather whims, wood quality ensuring long lasting buildings.

and avoid the unpleasant greenhouse effect in the summer. On the other hand, wood naturally avoids condensation which is often the issue in metal framed conservatories. Finally, an ingenious system of overlapping double glazing windows insures optimum sealing at the roof sides.

Adaptable to different architectural styles

The catalogue of David Salisbury's products contains four specific ranges allowing each customer to choose the most appropriate basic style to suit the spirit of their home.

  • The Conservatory: this is the most classic type of extension and can be created with different styles of roof (Victorian, Edwardian, Georgian, etc). The Conservatory suits most locations.
  • The Orangery: these are usually larger extensions, with a characteristic flat roof and mounted glass dome. They present a remarkable liveable and comfortable area.
  • The Garden Room: it presents a more countrified style and becomes a perfectly good connecting area between the house and the garden, often with a tiled or solid roof
  • The Greenhouse: similar to the Garden Room, the Greenhouse can become an independent dwelling or be part of the house.

David Salisbury's construction policy allows you to create a highly personalised model fitted with all sorts of equipment for you to choose from: openings, doors and windows of classic design or tilting or sliding designs. In a nutshell, David Salisbury's conservatories and orangeries offer both wooden elegance and warmth and guarantee a unique durability.
